Who we are

Tsela is an online job search service run by Thapelo Sethinyane as a sole proprietor in South Africa. Thapelo Sethinyane is the Information Officer responsible for your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

• Waitlist: your name, email address, country, the job you're after and what you're interested in.
• Your account: name, email, phone number, country and a password (stored scrambled, never readable by us).
• Your job profile: the roles you want, skills, qualifications, work experience, your CV and cover letters.
• Your applications: the jobs matched to you, the applications prepared and sent, and their status.
• Payments: your plan, the amounts and dates paid. Card details are handled by Paystack; we never see or store your card number.
• Basic usage data: pages visited and errors, so we can keep the service working.

Why we use it

• To match you with jobs you qualify for.
• To write and send the applications you ask for, and to prepare you for interviews.
• To run your account, take payments and send receipts.
• To email you about your applications and, if you agree, about Tsela updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We use your information because you ask us to provide the service, and with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time; we'll then stop the parts of the service that need it.

Who we share it with

• Employers you apply to: your application, CV and contact details, only for jobs you approve or choose to apply to automatically.
• Service providers who run Tsela for us: Paystack (payments), our website host, our database provider, our email provider, and our AI provider, which writes cover letters, CVs and interview answers from your details. They may only use your information to provide their service to Tsela.
• Authorities: only when the law requires it.

We never sell your personal information.

Information stored outside South Africa

Some of our providers store or process information in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. We use providers that are bound to protect it to a standard similar to POPIA.

How long we keep it

Waitlist details are kept until Tsela launches and you join, or until you ask us to remove them. Account information is kept while your account is open, and deleted within 90 days of closing it, except payment records, which the law requires us to keep for 5 years.

Your rights

• See the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct it, or ask us to delete it.
• Object to its use, or withdraw your consent.
• Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za. If you live in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Your information is sent over encrypted connections, access is limited to what's needed to run Tsela, and passwords are stored scrambled. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you and the Information Regulator.

Age

Tsela is for people aged 18 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and email account holders about important changes.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Tsela, run by Thapelo Sethinyane as a sole proprietor in South Africa. By creating an account or paying for a plan, you agree to them.

What Tsela does

Tsela finds newly listed remote jobs, checks them against your profile, and prepares applications for jobs you qualify for. Depending on your settings, applications either wait for your approval or are sent for you where the employer accepts email applications. For jobs that use the employer's own online form, Tsela prepares the application and you submit it. Paid plans include cover letter tailoring and interview preparation. The AI CV Builder is sold separately.

Who can use Tsela

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. One account per person.

Your responsibilities

• Everything in your profile and CV must be true. Tsela writes only from the facts you give it.
• By turning on automatic sending, you authorise Tsela to send applications in your name to jobs that match your profile.
• Read AI-written content before relying on it. AI can make mistakes, and you are responsible for what is sent in your name when you approve it.
• Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
• Don't misuse Tsela: no fake profiles, no applying for other people, and no copying job listings out of the service.

No job guarantee

Tsela helps you find and apply for jobs, but employers make their own hiring decisions. We can't guarantee interviews or job offers. Job listings come from employers and third-party sources; we remove listings that look fake, but we can't guarantee every listing is accurate or still open.

Plans and payment

• Plans are weekly, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until you cancel.
• Payments are taken by card through Paystack and charged in South African rand. Prices are shown in US dollars; your bank converts the amount and may charge its own fees.
• You can cancel at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and won't renew.
• Application limits reset at the start of each week or month, depending on your plan.
• We'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of your plan.

AI CV Builder

One payment covers 3 CVs. Each CV is for one person, and the name on it is fixed once AI has written it or it has been downloaded. You can edit and download each CV as often as you like. CVs you create are yours.

Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why, and refund any unused prepaid period unless the account was used for fraud.

Liability

Tsela is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as a missed job opportunity, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under South African consumer law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.

7-day refund on your first purchase

If Tsela isn't right for you, ask for a refund within 7 days of your first payment for a plan or for the AI CV Builder, and we'll refund you in full. This follows the cooling-off right in South Africa's Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

Renewals and cancelling

Cancel before your plan renews and you won't be charged again. We don't refund part of a week, month or year already started, unless the law requires it or Tsela didn't work as described.

When we always refund

• You were charged twice, or charged the wrong amount.
• You were charged after cancelling.
• A fault on our side stopped Tsela from working for a large part of the period you paid for.

Email thapelosethinyane@gmail.com from the address on your account, with the date and amount of the payment. We reply within 3 working days.

How you're refunded

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 30 days of approval. The amount is refunded in South African rand, so the amount in your own currency may differ slightly because of exchange rates.
